The DDR Pattern (German)

In the former German Democratic Republic (DDR) these cards were newly designed. They show the class fight on playing cards. The kings are decadent figures and the ober show aristocrats with cruel or arrogant faces. Only the under, who represents the working class, is shown in a heroic manner. Despite the fall of the Berlin wall and the reunification of Germany these cards can still be bought in stores. A full deck has 32 cards (per suit: 7-10, U, O, K, D). For some years a version was sold that had queens instead of ober.

Queens instead of ober. These cards are no longer printed. But because this game is neither old, nor rare, the collector has a good chance in finding such a game.
